The Cat® 320D Excavators are powered by the Cat® C6.4 Engine with a Common Rail Fuel System. Fuel quality issues often lead to failure in components of the fuel system increasing the cost of operations. Taking customers problems seriously, a solution was engineered by Caterpillar and Gmmco which involved replacing the Cat C6.4 Engine with the proven Cat C7.1 Engine which is suitable for the working conditions and various applications in India.

The Repowering Kit was developed by Caterpillar with a new engine and a cooling package at an affordable price. Repowering brought forth a 40% reduction in maintenance costs, higher productivity, lesser breakdown time and peace of mind for the owner. Gmmco successfully repowered and delivered the 1st 320D Excavator Engine of M/s Vinod Kumar Srivastav at Jabalpur.
